I tried 3 real estate offices before coming here, I can't believe I had wasted my time with the others. The previous offices all had agents who were seemingly trained to give me the run around. It seemed impossible to get to see anything.
I understand that apartments rent fast and that sometimes the property I see on Craigslist has already been rented. That's fine. But what else do you got? This was the problem with the previous offices.
So I called Cambridge Realty Group, somewhat worried because I was running out of time. My agent asked me the normal questions agents asked but then immediately schedule with an appointment with me. I came in the next day, saw several properties, all were what I had asked to see and I decided on one right there.
Of course there was another deal ahead of me, which was a bummer. My agent didn't give up and instead immediately set up another round of showings so I would have back up options.
As it turned out, the first place I rented is what I got (the other deal fell apart)---so I won out in the end. But the whole time I felt like my agent was a diligent, hard-working partner in my housing search.
Finding good housing in this market is hard enough without having to deal with poor agency. That said, I highly recommend Cambridge Realty Group.
I have to say, everyone (Roger, Ranjita, Robert) I have dealt with so far at Cambridge Realty Group have been super nice and really have bent over backwards to help me. I lived in Boston about 10 years ago, so I have a general idea of where I want to be but I am currently out of state so everything is just harder.
I contacted Roger a few days ago about an apt and he got back to me in minutes. I had sent out a few other emails, since it seems that multiple groups listed the same property, and he was the first one to get back to me. We talked and I really felt at ease with him, he's quirky like me and really up front about things. I hate real estate people who dick you around. Anyway, we found this place and I wanted to see it because it would be perfect so I flew out the next day (I'm also spontaneous and impulsive, hence the next day flight). I'm not going to get into the gory details but I'll just say the landlord got a little flaky and this is where Ranjita stepped in. This woman is super nice but it's obvious she can get things done. Needless to say, I saw the place and loved it. The only thing that will prevent me from getting this awesome place is if the landlord decides to sell it and not rent it. If that happens, I will definitely stick with Roger, Ranjita "the Wolf", Robert, and the rest of CRG.
All said and done, I had a great experience and would work with this group again.
Obviously the previous negative reviews were about one person who I don't think is even there anymore. I would wholeheartedly recommend Roger.
And seriously people, take a deep breath and find your Zen place when you're looking for an apartment. Nobody likes moving, if you're calm about it the process will not be so soul draining.
I worked with Ranjita at CRG and was very happy overall. I was struggling to find a decent apartment, gave her a call and was able to meet me that day. Unfortunately the first place I saw was rented before I could take it but she lined up another viewing straight away and I was very happy with the place. From my perspective she was very helpful and easy to do business with, only showed me places which matched my requirements and the whole transaction was very easy. Happy to recommend them.
Justin from Cambridge Reality Group did a great job finding my fiance and I an apartment to move into. To make his job harder he had to find one that would accept dogs and find someone to take over our current lease. He did everything in less than two weeks and found us a bigger place with a garage at a reasonable price! He always answered our calls and questions. He was always professional and I recommend anyone looking to rent to visit him. He will make finding a new place as stress free as possible. I look forward to working with him again.
My colleague and I came from Germany to work abroad in the US. We were looking for a spacious 2 bedroom apartment Before we met Justin, we visited quite some apartments, and were disappointed by the prices and quality. But Justin showed us the perfect one.

Some details are still missing but we are confident that they will be taken care of. Only thing that was exhausting was the high pressure put on us regarding financials. But this might be due to the aggressivity of the market.

To sum it up, he found me an apartment that was exactly what I was looking for and also facilitated the effort to find someone to move into my old apartment and take over my current lease--all in 8 days! I worked with Justin Idoine from Cambrigde realty. He was very helpful, attantive and professional. We had a tough situation where we had to find not only a new place for us but also needed find someone to take over our lease. And it wasn't upto him we woudn't be able make it happen so I would certainly recommend him.

He helped me find quality apartments, and he was honest about the downsides of an apartment before I went to view it. I got the sense very quickly that I could trust Justin, I would recommend him if you go with CRG!

I made an appointment to see an apartment with a realtor from CRG in Central Square. I was supposed to meet her on the corner of Bay Street and Mass Avenue at 1:40pm. I waited for 30 minutes. SHE NEVER SHOWED UP. SHE NEVER CALLED TO LET ME KNOW SHE WASN'T GOING TO SHOW UP. I would have appreciated a little professionalism and perhaps a call to at least let me know that she wasn't going to be able to meet with me instead of wasting my time.
